Until Next Winter, Ping Pong

At this point in mid-April, we are pretty much in the clear to say goodbye to Winter. And as exciting as that is after this long Vermont season, it also means that here at the studio, we say goodbye to our favorite indoor sport as we welcome the outdoor ones. Today we remember the fun in ping pong with this project Michael worked on over the Winter.

Connecting with COTS

This project started as a kind of investigation/exploration of my neighbors and the sense of wanting to connect with something. Homelessness is individual and communal, it seems frightening and yet the people I met are courageous by necessity. These portraits are focused on the openness of these individuals to connect with me and with our community despite the hardship of homelessness. The COTS day station is a place of safety, shelter and lunch for those in need. Its run on a shoe string budget by an amazing staff. Please donate any amount you can. All proceeds from the sales of prints to go directly to the COTS day station. (Donations and purchases can be made at Speeder & Earls on Pine Street).

Happenings

Underwear, stilettos AND a new camera?! Not too shabby of a week here at the studio. The Phase One arrived just in time for a slew of portrait projects Michael is working on (check out Speeder and Earl’s on Pine Street in the next few weeks to see some of his new work!) and the weekend was full of camera fun with the Commando underwear models and crew. Jessica has the studio full with Stella Mae’s new Spring shoe line and the photographs are so fresh, some of us have even skipped out on lunch break to buy a new pair (..or two). It’s going to be a busy Spring!
